As of today, May 15, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 300/mt ($7-8/mt) against the backdrop of the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and the ongoing currency fluctuations, compared to Monday, May 12. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,600-26,100/mt or $551-562/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.69.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $550-565/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, up by $5/mt, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $550-560/mt ex-works, also up by $5/mt, for cash payment only.
Two Iskenderun-based mills issued their official rebar prices at TRY 26,250-26,600/mt ($565-573/mt) ex-works earlier today. One Iskenderun mill has set its rebar price at TRY 25,650/mt ($552/mt) ex-works late in the afternoon today.
