As of today, May 26, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 200-300/mt ($4-6/mt) in the Marmara and Karabuk regions, while remaining unchanged in the rest of the country with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, compared to Thursday, May 20. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,600-26,300/mt or $548-563/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.95.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $560-570/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, stable over the same period, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $550-565/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,500/mt ($567/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,600/mt ($548/mt) ex-warehouse for serious buyers.
