As of today, April 24, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100/mt ($4/mt) in the Marmara region against the backdrop of the aggressive pricing in the rest of the country, while rising by TRY 100/mt in the Iskenderun, Izmir and Karabuk regions in order to offset currency fluctuations, compared to Monday, April 21. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 24,600-25,200/mt or $535-548/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.33.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $540-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, down by $5/mt on the higher end, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $535-545/mt ex-works, down by $15/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
Two Iskenderun-based mills have issued their rebar prices at TRY 25,250-25,500/mt ($549-554/mt) ex-works today. Sources report the workable rebar price in this region is close to TRY 24,750/mt ($538/mt) ex-works due to aggressive pricing policies.
