Today, September 25, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 50-100/mt in the Marmara and Iskenderun regions, while rebar spot rebar prices in the Karabuk region have fallen by TRY 100/mt. In addition, rebar spot prices in the Izmir region have remained unchanged in the local currency. All rebar spot prices are compared to Thursday, September 21, and indicate minor changes on US dollar basis amid ongoing currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,500-18,800/mt or $567-576/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 27.21.
Icdas has kept its official dollar-based rebar price stable at $590/mt ex-works today. Most Izmir and Marmara-based mills are offering official rebar prices at $580-585/mt ex-works, rising by $5-10/mt over the same period. Sources report that the workable rebar price is at around $570-580/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, one Iskenderun-based mill is offering rebar at TRY 19,000/mt ($582/mt) ex-works today. The general sentiment on the demand side is still pessimistic.
