Today, June 2, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have dropped by TRY 10-20/mt with minor changes in prices on US dollar basis. Local traders are squeezed by firm scrap prices, limited trading activity and the appreciation of the Turkish lira. Traders’ rebar prices are currently at TRY 3,250-3,340/mt ($407-418/mt) ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Local mill Icdas has kept its rebar price at TRY 3,310/mt ($414/mt) ex-works, stable on Turkish lira basis, while up by $2/mt on US dollar basis. Other mills in this region are currently offering rebar at TRY 3,275-3,315/mt ($410-415/mt) ex-works.
Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has also kept its rebar price in the local currency at TRY 3,310/mt ex-works, while its dollar price has risen by $2/mt to $414/mt ex-works. Another mill in the Izmir region has cut its rebar price by TRY 20/mt to TRY 3,275/mt ($410/mt) ex-works, keeping its price stable on US dollar basis.
