Turkish domestic rebar spot prices fall further

Today, July 26, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 200-300/mt ($6-9/mt), compared to Monday, July 24, amid sluggish demand and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 18,000-18,300/mt or $557-566/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 26.94.

Icdas A.S has kept its official rebar price at $580/mt ex-works today. Sources report that most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are offering their official list prices at $580-590/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S. Additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers. Some local traders are applying aggressive pricing policies to generate cash for their loan repayments, while demand is also sluggish amid the unfavorable hot weather conditions in the country.
