Turkish domestic rebar spot prices fall further

Today, March 28, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by another TRY 50-200/mt ($3-10/mt) from the previous day against the backdrop of the sluggish demand and the negative sentiment in the import scrap prices. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 16,100-16,350/mt or $714-725/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.   

Icdas has kept its official rebar price at $740/mt ex-works today. Sources report the workable rebar price is standing at $730-740/mt ex-works in the Marmara region, including Icdas A.S. In addition, a few mills are under maintenance process and offering limited sizes until Friday, March 31, SteelOrbis has heard. According to sources around 10,000-20,000 mt of rebar has traded at around $715/mt ex-works in the Izmir region and the rebar sale were closed after this sale.  

In the Iskenderun region, a few re-roller have closed their rebar sales until Friday, March 31. Also slightly below $715/mt ex-works is also rumored in this region, however it has not confirmed by the time of publication.

All prices are ex-warehouse and on actual weight basis. Prices on Turkish lira basis include 18 percent VAT, while prices on US dollar basis exclude VAT.
