As of today, June 26, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-300/mt ($2-7/mt) amid ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Monday, June 23. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,100-25,800/mt or $526-541/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.77.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $535-560/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, down by $5/mt on the lower end as compared to June 23, while the workable rebar prices in these regions also vary, at $530-550/mt ex-works, down by $5/mt on the higher end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,750/mt ($561/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,400-25,600/mt ($532-536/mt) ex-warehouse, down by TRY 100-200/mt ($3-5/mt) for serious buyers.
The Turkish domestic construction sector seems to be slowing down due to warm weather conditions and reduced working hours.
