As of today, May 29, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 100-200/mt ($5-8/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, compared to Monday, May 26. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 25,500-26,100/mt or $543-556/mt, ex-warehouse, depending on the region, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 39.14.
The official rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions vary at $560-570/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, stable over the same period, while the workable rebar prices in these regions vary at $545-565/mt ex-works, down by $5/mt on the lower end over the same period, for cash payment only.
One Iskenderun-based mill issued its official rebar price today at TRY 26,500/mt ($564/mt) ex-works. Sources report a few re-rollers in this region are offering rebar at around TRY 25,800-26,100/mt ($549-556/mt) ex-warehouse for serious buyers. Moreover, one Iskenderun-based mill has closed its rebar sales this afternoon.
