Turkish mills have reduced their official wire rod prices by $5/mt in the Iskenderun and Marmara regions against the backdrop of sluggish demand, while wire rod prices in the Thrace and Izmir regions have remained unchanged, as compared to Tuesday, October 3. According to sources, a few mills are becoming more aggressive in their pricing and are giving sizeable discounts against the backdrop of the war in Israel, which is one of their regular export destinations.
An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 16,350/mt ($590/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, down by $5/mt over the past week. The exchange rate is taken as $1 = TRY 27.73 for pricing in the Iskenderun region as no other exchange rate has been specified locally.
