Turkish mills have mostly decreased their wire rod prices by $5-35/mt to $665-675/mt ex-works over the past week. Kardemir announced its 6-27 mm wire rod price at $685/mt ex-works on Thursday, April 27, and has kept its wire rod price stable since then, which seems a bit high in the current market conditions. Icdas raised its official wire rod price by $5/mt to $675/mt ex-works today due to the recent import scrap deals. An Iskenderun-based mill has issued its official wire rod price today at TRY 13,000/mt ex-works, excluding VAT today, falling by $35/mt over the same period. A few wire rod buyers have sufficient stocks, so they are not eager to replenish stocks for now.
Most suppliers are offering for May delivery, while a limited tonnage is available from stocks.
