One Marmara-based Turkish mill cut its local wire rod price by $20/mt yesterday compared to Tuesday, April 25, amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment.

Kardemir cut its 6-27 mm wire rod price to $685/mt ex-works yesterday by $20/mt. Icdas has kept its official wire rod price at $710/mt ex-works today. An Iskenderun-based mill has also kept its official wire rod price stable today, at $690/mt ex-works. One Izmir-based mill has stopped quoting wire rod prices for now. However, most buyers expect local wire rod prices to fall further early next week amid weaker import scrap prices. Sources report that the workable wire rod prices vary at $670-690/mt ex-works.

Most suppliers are offering for May delivery, while a limited tonnage is available from stocks.
