Today, October 7, Turkey’s Kardemir has opened its local billet sales after an absence of one month, with its previous price list having been issued on September 8. The supplier has given an attractive price to the market and so it has been able to sell a significant tonnage and to close its sales rather quickly.

Accordingly, Kardemir set its billet offer prices at TRY 3,245/mt ($413/mt) ex-works for S235JR grade, while its S420-B420 (formerly III-A) grade billet was available at TRY 3,280/mt ($418/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 50/mt and down by $15/mt compared to the previous price. Prices exclude 18 percent VAT. Sources report that approximately 80,500 mt of billet were traded. “Again currency is the reason and again a very good price for the Karabuk region-based buyers,” a trader told SteelOrbis.
