Turkey’s Kardemir sells over 65,000 mt of billet

Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has closed its 150 mm x 150 mm billet sales today after selling a total of 66,550 mt, SteelOrbis has learned.

The announced offers were at TRY 2,625/mt for S235JR  grade and TRY 2,655/mt for S420-B420 grade, both on ex-works basis. The initial US dollar-based levels were at $383/mt ex-works and $387/mt ex-works at $1 = TRY 6.86. Sources report that the billet sales have been mainly supported by local merchant bar re-rollers.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT

$1 = TRY 6.865
