Turkey’s Kardemir opens wire rod sales

Today, May 25, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has opened its wire rod sales for the first time since early this month. Kardemir’s new price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod has been announced at TRY 6,965/mt ($828/mt) ex-works, while its 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at TRY 6,880/mt ($818/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 730/mt ($80-81/mt). According to sources, the supplier has sold a limited volume, while the actual tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication.

The producer’s wire rod prices are a bit higher than the general wire rod price range in Turkey which is currently at $810-850/mt ex-works. Morever, sources report that the producer is carrying out maintanence works which will last for a week.
