Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 21,550/mt ($556/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, May 14, closing them in less than an hour. Sources report the mill succeeded in selling around 27,500 mt due to its advantageous payment terms, while its price indicated an increase of TRY 550/mt ($12/mt) compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, May 7.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.78.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $545-560/mt ex-works at present.
