Today, June 24, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir decreased its wire rod prices by $17-22/mt as compared to its prices issued on Wednesday, May 6, amid weaker import scrap prices, ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand.
Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stands at $600/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $590/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $610/mt ex-works. Sources report around 5,000 mt of wire rod has been sold so far, though the final tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
Kardemir's mesh grade price is close to the lower end of the general range of workable wire rod prices at $585-600/mt ex-works.
The wire rod prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
