Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 22,455/mt ($548/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, August 27, while it closes them after three hours. Sources report that the mill succeeded in selling around 21,000 mt given its advantageous payment terms. The price indicated a TRY 170/mt ($9/mt) decrease compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, August 6.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 41.01.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, currently vary at $535-550/mt ex-works.
