Today, July 26, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has decreased its dollar-based wire rod prices by $55/mt a week ago. The main reasons are the negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segment contributed by the rapid currency fluctuations.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod is currently at $715/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $675/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $700/mt ex-works.

Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
