Turkey’s Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 21,165/mt ($556/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, April 16. The mill has succeeded in selling around 11,000 mt so far due to its advantageous payment terms, while its price has indicated a decrease of TRY 290/mt ($15/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and weaker import scrap prices, compared to Wednesday, March 12. The mill's rebar sales are still open at the time of publication.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $550-560/mt ex-works at present.
Kardemir is selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.07.
