Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 23,365/mt ($560/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, October 9, while it closed them after a couple of hours. Sources report that the mill succeeded in selling around 15,000 mt given its advantageous payment terms. The final tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication. The price indicated a TRY 890/mt ($16/mt) increase, compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, September 17.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 41.71.
Sources report that the official rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, currently vary at $540-565/mt ex-works.
