As of today, November 6, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have risen by another TRY 100-300/mt ($1-5/mt) compared to November 3 against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and relatively positive sentiment in the import scrap segment following Kardemir's sale of a large rebar tonnage today. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now in the range of TRY 27,500-28,500/mt ($544-564/m) ex-warehouse, depending on the region and at the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 42.10.
Official rebar offers for cash payments in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including İçdaş's prices, have risen by $15/mt on the higher end compared to November 3, to $545-575/mt ex-works, while acceptable prices are available at $545-565/mt ex-works, also up by $10/mt on the higher end over the same period.
Sources say several Iskenderun-based rolling mills are offering rebar to serious buyers today at TRY 28,200-28,300/mt ($558-560/mt) ex-warehouse, versus TRY 27,900/mt ($553/mt) ex-warehouse on November 3.
