Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir has opened its 150 mm x 150 mm billet sales in its local market as of today, April 2.

Accordingly, the supplier has reduced its billet offers by TRY 75/mt ($22/mt) compared to one week ago to TRY 2,270/mt ($340/mt) ex-works for S235JR grade while its III-A grade billet is available at TRY 2,300/mt ($345/mt) ex-works. No demand has been seen yet. In addition, in its previous round of sales, Kardemir had only been able to sell around 8,000 mt. The key reason is the stalled demand for long products in Turkey caused by the halting of construction activities, SteelOrbis understands.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
