Today, March 30, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has reduced its wire rod prices by $20 depending on product size, compared to Wednesday, March 1, against the backdrop of the negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments.

Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod is standing at $765/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $750/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $770/mt ex-works.

Kardemir’s 6-27 mm wire rod price is close to the lower end of the official general price range for the same specifications in Turkey which varies at $755-785/mt ex-works.

Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
