Today, May 27, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has closed its wire rod sales which was opened on Tuesday, May 25, with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 8.41. Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod was at TRY 6,965/mt ($828/mt) ex-works, while its 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade was offered at TRY 6,880/mt ($818/mt) ex-works. According to sources, the supplier has succeeded in selling around 20,000 mt.
Wire rod prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
