Turkey's Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 20,700/mt ($540/mt), excluding VAT, earlier today, April 25, closing its sales after a couple of hours. The mill succeeded in selling around 32,500 mt due to its advantageous payment terms, while its price indicated a decrease of TRY 465/mt ($15/mt) compared to its previous price list dated Wednesday, April 16.
Kardemir was selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.30.
The mill had sold around 12,500 mt at its previous rebar price, TRY 21,165/mt ($556/mt), excluding VAT, at an exchange rate of $1 = TRY 38.07, on Wednesday, April 16. As a result, it has sold a total of up to 45,000 mt, at $556/mt and $540/mt, ex-works.
Sources report that the workable rebar prices in Turkey’s Marmara and Izmir regions, including Icdas A.S.’s prices, vary at $535-545/mt ex-works at present.
