Today, January 14, Turkey’s Kardemir has closed its local billet sales after selling around 25,000 mt since Friday, December 25. Sources report some buyers are maintaining a wait-and-see stance before any new billet purchases at extended delivery terms, after the deliveries of previous high-volume billet sales, against the backdrop of currency fluctuations.

Kardemir had set its billet offer prices at TRY 4,640/mt ($628/mt) ex-works for S235JR grade, while its S420-B420 (formerly III-A) grade billet was available at TRY 4,675/mt ($633/mt) ex-works. Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
