Turkish steel producer Kardemir has closed its billet sales today, September 18, after selling about 32,500 mt in total, according to market sources. The mill had revised its sales earlier today at the level of TRY 2,195/mt ($386/mt) ex-works for S235JR billet and at TRY 2,225/mt ($391/mt) ex-works for MT III-A billet, both excluding VAT. In order to ensure completion of delivery of its previous orders first, Kardemir sold a maximum of 3,000 mt of billet to each customer in today’s sales.

In the light of Kardemir’s price level in these sales, one may say Turkish buyers are willing to conclude new billet purchases at the price level of $386-391/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT.
