Turkish steel producer Kardemir has closed its billet sales today, August 20, after selling about 94,500 mt in total, according to market sources. The mill had revised its sales earlier today at the level of TRY 2,350/mt ($413/mt) ex-works for S235JR billet and at TRY 2,380/mt ($418/mt) ex-works for MT III-A billet, both excluding VAT.
In the light of these price levels issued by Kardemir, it may be said that Turkish buyers are willing to conclude new billet purchases at price levels of $415-420/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT.
