Turkish steel producer Kardemir has closed its billet sales today, March 11, after selling about 103,500 mt in total. The mill had opened its sales earlier today at the level of TRY 2,500/mt ($460/mt) ex-works for S235JR billet and at TRY 2,530/mt ($465/mt) ex-works for MT III-A billet, both excluding VAT, with 25 percent on cash payment basis and with 25 percent each on 30-day, 60-day and 90-day deferred payment basis, and with no interest accruing due to payment deferral.

Compared to the previous price list, the producer has increased its billet prices by TRY 130/mt on Turkish lira basis, though prices on US dollar basis have moved up by $4-5/mt due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate.
