Still no demand revival for ex-southern Europe rebar offers

According to market sources, Spanish rebar export offers have moved sideways in the past week at €410/mt ($447/mt) FOB. On the other hand, Italian producers' rebar offers to foreign markets have softened by around €5-10/mt ($5-11/mt) in the same period to €405/mt ($441/mt) FOB. Overall demand for Spanish and Italian rebar exports has remained sluggish.

Although Italian producers claim that their offers are considered to be on the low side after the above price revision, the new price level has failed to revive demand in their target export markets such as Algeria. Meanwhile, no new ex-Spain rebar deal has been heard in the current week.
