SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that local merchant bar prices in some regions of Turkey have decreased by a slight margin of TRY 10/mt ($4/mt) over the past two weeks, while in other regions prices have moved sideways in the same period. Meanwhile, due to the cold and rainy weather conditions in the country, trading activity in the market weakened last week. However, market sources state that demand has revived slightly in the current week.

According to market sources, in the local Turkish market merchant bar prices depending on size, thickness and region are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,230-1,300/mt ($540-570/mt), angles are at TRY 1,230-1,300/mt ($540-570/mt), while flat bars are at TRY 1,270-1,340/mt ($557-588/mt). All prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
