SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that ex-Turkey merchant bar offers have been revised downward by $5-10/mt in the past week. With the impact of aggressive Chinese billet prices, CIS billet offers to Turkey have declined, causing Turkish merchant bar exporters to revise their prices. In addition, the low demand this week from the Middle Eastern markets for Turkish merchant bar has played an important role in the price declines.

Export offers from Turkish merchant bar producers are at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

FOB

Angle

615-630

IPN-UPN

615-630

Flat bar

635-660

IPE

650-675
