As of today, October 13, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have remained unchanged in the local currency against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations with minor changes on US dollar basis, as compared to October 9. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now in the range of TRY 27,200-28,100/m ($542-560/m) ex-warehouse, depending on the region and with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 41.80.
Official rebar offers for cash payments in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including İçdaş's prices, have risen by $5/mt compared to October 9, to $545-570/m ex-works, while acceptable prices are standing at $545-$560/m ex-works, up by $5/mt over the same period.
Meanwhile, a producer in Iskenderun today announced its official rebar price at TRY 28,300/mt ($564/mt) ex-works. Sources say several Iskenderun-based rolling mills have offered rebar to serious buyers today at TRY 28,000-28,100/mt ($558-560/mt) ex-warehouse.
Although 12 mm rebar spot prices have remained stable, SteelOrbis has revised its conversation cost to TRY 1,200/mt ($24/mt) for 10 mm and TRY 1,500/mt ($30/mt) for 8 mm. The table is revised accordingly.
