As of today, September 1, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have remained unchanged on lira basis with falling only by $1/mt compared to August 28 amid the ongoing currency fluctuations. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now at TRY 26,200-27,000 /mt ($531-547/mt) ex-warehouse, with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 41,11.
Official cash offers for rebar in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including prices from İçdaş, have also remained stable from August 28 at $540-$555/mt ex-works, while acceptable prices have remained flat at $535-$550/mt ex-works.
Meanwhile, today a producer in Iskenderun announced its official rebar price at TRY 27,350/m ($554/m) ex-works. Sources say several Iskenderun-based rolling mills are offering rebar to serious buyers today at TRY 26,600-26,800/mt ($539-543/mt) ex-warehouse.
