As of today, October 16, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have remained stable amid the ongoing currency fluctuations with minor changes on US dollar basis, as compared to October 13. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now in the range of TRY 27,200-28,100/m ($542-560/m) ex-warehouse, depending on the region and with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 41.85.
Official rebar offers for cash payments in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including İçdaş's prices, have risen by $5/mt on the higher end compared to October 13, to $545-575/m ex-works, while acceptable prices are standing at $545-$560/m ex-works, stable over the same period.
Meanwhile, a producer in Iskenderun today announced its official rebar price at TRY 28,300/mt ($564/mt) ex-works. Sources say several Iskenderun-based rolling mills have offered rebar to serious buyers today at TRY 27,500-27,700/mt ($548-552/mt) ex-warehouse, down by TRY 400-500/mt ($8-10/mt) amid sluggish demand.
A Samsun-based mill has extended the closure of its rebar sales until Monday, October 20.
