Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export at $580/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis. The price, referred to the CA-50 grade, is now stable over two weeks.

In April, Brazil exported 54,300 mt of rebar, of which 23,400 mt to Peru at $563/mt, 15,900 mt to Bolivia at $556/mt, 5,300 mt to Colombia at $588/mt, 5,100 mt to Paraguay at $583/mt, 4,400 mt to Argentina at $636/mt, and 200 mt to Uruguay at $612/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February 2018.

Due to a strike of truck drivers over the last two weeks, Brazilian exports of rebar in May are set for a decline, as most of the volume is transported by truck when destined to countries in South America.
