Rebar prices in the Italian domestic market have continued to decline since last week, with prices decreasing by another €10/mt ($13/mt) to €495-505/mt ($639-652/mt) ex-works for diameters 14-26 mm.
Currently the downtrend in the Italian domestic rebar market is running at a faster pace compared to downward movement observed in in late spring/early summer, with price drops reaching €35-40/mt ($45-52/mt) in about ten weeks. Rebar demand is fairly fragile in Italy and market operators are concerned about the wait-and-see stance adopted by buyers, who are waiting for prices to reach the bottom, though bottom is not visible yet despite recent price drops.
