Rebar demand in Greece depends on economic aid package

In the Greek domestic rebar market, prices have remained unchanged since last week at €550-650/mt ($688-813/mt) for deliveries to customers on actual weight basis and for cash payments, exclusive of VAT, while no high volume transactions have been concluded.

After the recent elections, an economic aid package from the EU is expected to be implemented in Greece towards mid-July, creating hopes for a slight revival in the construction sector and in rebar demand.
