Prices decrease further in local Turkish rebar spot market

According to market sources, rebar prices in the local Turkish spot market have decreased by around TRY 15-45/mt since August 27, though prices on US dollar basis have decreased by $13-18/mt due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate. Market players state that demand is still very slack and so they have had to reduce their prices further in order to attract some demand. Meanwhile, buyers are cautious about concluding rebar deals due to the fluctuation of the US dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate and due to the political uncertainty in Turkey.
