According to market sources, rebar prices in the Italian domestic market have decreased further by €10/mt in the past week, to €460-465/mt ($515-521/mt) ex-works. Both local producers and local buyers have high levels of stock, and demand is very low. Meanwhile, Italian producers' offers to the export markets have trended sideways again, at €480/mt ($538/mt) FOB, while they have not received any concrete inquiries in the recent period. Currently, they prefer to offer rebar for shipment by truck to destinations such as Germany, France, Switzerland and eastern Europe, while their quotations are in line with domestic market prices, depending on destination.
