The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers is currently $535/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, stable over the last two weeks.
Brazilian producers remain focused on rebar exports to South American countries, including sales to subsidiaries, at prices not necessarily linked to market conditions.
In January, Brazil exported 42,200 mt of rebar, almost entirely destined to South American countries, except for small volumes shipped to the US and Jamaica.
Due to intensive rains recently in the Southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, where most of the production of longs products is located, rebar exports are expected to decline in February compared to January levels.
