Brazilian producers remain negotiating rebar for export to South American countries in a price range of $540/mt to $550/mt, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range over the last three weeks.

In April, Gerdau exported 21,800 mt of rebar at $479/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 15,500 mt at $598/mt, both FOB conditions, with different quality grades and price deals probably closed in February. All orders were destined to South American countries.

A local trader mentioned that producers are operating at a low production rate, without material available to traders and giving priority to the local market.
