Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export in a range of $580/mt to $600/mt, against a range of $580/mt to $590/mt last week, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, a local source told SteelOrbis.

In July, Gerdau exported 18,800 mt of rebar, in average at $561/mt, while ArcelorMittal exported 17,700 mt at $583/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May. With the exception of 6,600 mt exported by Gerdau to Jamaica, all the volume of July was shipped to South American countries. However, as some of the South American clients include companies associated with the steel producers, the prices are not necessarily linked to market conditions.
