The local Turkish wire rod market, which had been quiet for weeks due to the influence of Ramadan and exchange rate fluctuations, has witnessed some improvements from the start of the current week. Wire rod prices are now standing in the range of $605-635/mt ex-works, moving up by $5-10/mt since last week. Due to the ongoing strike at Isdemir, semi-finished and wire rod deliveries have been delayed and wire rod buyers in the Iskenderun region have turned to other regional markets in Turkey to meet their needs and so wire rod prices have registered increases, while the strike is expected to continue in the coming days.
