The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports to South American countries is now $1,030/mt, against $850/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade.
In February, Brazil exported 46,200 mt and imported 12,400 mt of rebar, against respectively 20,000 mt and 8,100 mt in January.
The exports of February were all destined to South American countries, of which 30,000 mt at $742/mt by ArcelorMittal and 16,200 mt at $768/mt by Gerdau, FOB conditions.
The imports were from Turkey (12,200 mt at $790/mt) and India (200 mt at $845/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 6,600/mt ($1,297/mt), against BRL 5,900/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
