Nucor announced late Monday that effective with shipments as of January 1, 2013, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing products, merchant bar, and structural products will be $224/nt ($11.20 cwt. or $247/mt), representing a $1/nt ($0.05 cwt. or $1.10/mt) decrease from the December 1, 2012 surcharge.
Additionally, Nucor will increase the base price for rebar, merchant bar, and structural products by $1/nt ($0.05 cwt. or $1.10/mt). The net effect of this move is that transaction prices for rebar, merchant bar, and structural products will remain unchanged.
