Nucor announced late Friday that effective with shipments as of December 1, 2012, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing products, merchant bar, and structural products will be $225/nt ($11.25 cwt. or $248/mt), representing a $52/nt ($2.60 cwt. or $57/mt) increase from the October 11, 2012 surcharge.
Additionally, Nucor will decrease the base price for rebar, merchant bar, and structural products by $17/nt ($0.85 cwt. or $19/mt). The net effect of this move is that transaction prices for rebar, merchant bar, and structural products will increase by $35/nt ($1.75 cwt. or $39/mt).
