Effective with shipments July 1, 2010, Nucor Bar Mill Group's Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing bars, merchant bars and structural products will be $288/nt ($14.40 cwt. or $317/mt), a $15/nt ($0.75 cwt. or $15/mt) increase from the May 11-applicable surcharge. In addition, the company has increased base prices on all concrete reinforcing bars, merchant bars and structural products by $5/nt ($0.25 cwt. or $6/mt).
The net effect of this move is that transaction pricing for reinforcing bars, merchant bars and structural products will increase by $20/nt ($1.00/cwt or $22/mt).
