According to market sources, demand for Italian wire rod is nonexistent in Algeria, and so Italian producers are not offering wire rod to Algerian buyers at the moment. Market sources have told SteelOrbis that this situation is caused by two factors. The first is that in recent months Algeria has imported lots of wire rod and rebar from China, with only the rebar volumes being completely absorbed in the market. The second reason for the lack of demand for Italian wire rod in Algeria is that a local wire rod producer in Algeria has been increasing its production from the beginning of the year up to the present.
